If your department or faculty would like to create your own Facebook page or Twitter account, please contact the Marketing and Communications department at communications@uwinnipeg.ca before creating your page. We will advise you on how to get started and the proper guidelines to reflect our brand.

Social media during a pandemic

As you know, The University of Winnipeg is closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation.

With this being such a fluid situation, ensuring we efficiently and effectively communicate updates and information to our students, faculty, and staff is of the utmost importance. And one of those avenues of communication is through social media, whether that’s Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and/or LinkedIn.

If you are the social media manager for any faculty or department accounts, it’s extremely important the messaging remains consistent with UWinnipeg’s main social media channels.

While that does not mean the posts you create have to be exactly the same, all should contain a similar tone, provide factual information, and, most importantly, link the reader to our COVID-19 webpage, where they can access the most up-to-date information.
