The course I want is full, can I ask the instructor for permission to register?

No, students will be waitlisted for conference-connected courses. If a spot opens up it will be offered (via WebAdvisor) to the next student in line. Instructors do not have the ability to increase caps or grant permission to register.

How does the waitlist work for conference-connected courses?

Waitlists for conference-connected courses are in place due to the high demand and it is our best way to ensure fair access and allow us to track students in appropriate order. Once on a waitlist, it is important to keep checking your UW email address for notification. A window of 72 hours is granted for registration before moving onto the next person in line. Course fees are due 24 hours after registering to ensure placement in the course.

If I am on a waitlist and have not been contacted by the first day of class, will I still get in?

No, once the course begins the class roster is closed. Students are not permitted to attend a class they are not registered for.

How much homework can I expect in the condensed course?

The amount of course work will differ between courses and instructors. Students should expect to complete coursework relative to the 5000 level of expectation for a 30 credit hour course. Although the format is condensed, instructors are all expected to maintain academic integrity. It is also well within reason to expect course-work due beyond the 3-day classroom time.

Are there assignments connected to the conference?

Conference connected assignments are encouraged and left to the discretion of the instructors.

Can I pre-register for conference breakout sessions?

No. Due to the nature of the breakout sessions being added and adjusted as needed right up until the program is printed, pre-registry is not available. These sessions are available first come-first serve. Participants are expected to conduct themselves in a professional and courteous manner arriving to these sessions.
