The Canadian Journal of Urban Research (CJUR)

The Canadian Journal of Urban Research (CJUR) is free for readers on an Open Journal System

There is an author submission fee of 75.00 CAD per author listed in the paper to offset journal costs.

The Canadian Journal of Urban Research (CJUR) is a peer reviewed, multidisciplinary, scholarly journal dedicated to publishing articles that address a wide range of issues relevant to the field of urban studies. CJUR has been published by the Institute of Urban Studies, University of Winnipeg since 1992. Effective 2015 CJUR became an open access journal and has broadened its impact in terms of knowledge mobilization. Upwards of 100,000 CJUR articles are downloaded annually via Ebsco, Proquest, and Open Journal System and read by a global audience. CJUR welcomes papers focussing on urban theory and methodology, empirical research, problem and policy-oriented analyses, and cross-national comparative studies.

CJUR is financially supported by the Institute of Urban Studies, The University of Winnipeg. Since becoming open access CJUR no longer receives subscription fees. To help offset the increasing cost of production it was necessary to introduce a modest submission fee of $75.00 per author listed in the paper. This fee will help ensure CJUR remains one of the few independent, urban scholarly journals in Canada. Please See our Letter to Readers and Subscribers regarding the application fee.

Communicating and reproducing of CJUR, in paper or electronic form, for non-profit educational institutions, is governed by fair dealing in Canada and fair use in the USA. All other communication and reproduction uses should be requested from the editor of CJUR.
