Indigenous UWinnipeg

Kids at summer campThe University of Winnipeg’s Innovative Learning Centre is focused on closing the graduation gap that currently exists for Aboriginal youth. Our programs are grounded in a philosophy that supports elementary and secondary students so that children and youth stay in school and see themselves as graduates and as university students. Programs include Science-Kids on Campus and the UW Adventure Kids Summer Camp.

  • UW Adventure Kids Summer Camp works with more than 30 inner-city schools to provide a fun and educational camp experience that addresses summer learning loss. The science-focused camp is free-of-charge and to date more than 6,000 children have attended the University's summer camps.
  • Science-Kids on Campus  involves inner-city and North End elementary school students who visit the University once a week over the course of 10 weeks to engage in science-focused activities with University faculty and students. The activities are chosen specifically to support the school curriculum with the goal of making science more fun and relevant.
