Mitacs Internship and Fellowship Opportunities

Accelerate

Put your talent to work with a paid internship at an organization that needs your expertise. Funding starts at $15,000, and your partner organization’s financial contribution starts at $7,500.

How it works:

  1. A student, a supervising professor, and a partner organization develop a research project.
  2. Applicants submit a proposal via a Mitacs representative.
  3. Projects receive $15,000 in funding for each four-month internship.

Elevate

Build your career through this competitive annual fellowship for up to two years. Elevate includes a research management training program and a postdoctoral fellowship. Your partner organization’s financial contribution starts at $30,000.

Globalink Research Award

The Mitacs Globalink Research Award provides $6,000 for senior undergraduate and graduate students, and postdoctoral fellows in Canada to conduct 12–24-week research projects at universities overseas.

Canadian Science Policy Fellowship

Help solve public policy challenges in Canada. The Mitacs Canadian Science Policy Fellowship offers PhD holders from all disciplines a 12-month immersion into the policy making process with participating government departments.

Entrepreneur International

Mitacs Entrepreneur International assists with travel costs — up to $5,000 — to help you explore new business opportunities abroad. Mitacs Entrepreneur International offers travel grants to Canadian start-ups housed in university-linked incubators. The matching grant enables start-ups to connect with international incubators allowing you to explore new business development opportunities in global markets.
