All research undertaken by faculty members or students in Canadian universities that involves human participants requires ethics review and approval by the University. At UWinnipeg this is supported by the University Human Research Ethics Board (UHREB). This session, facilitated by Dr. Jeannie Kerr,  Chair of the University Human Research Ethics Board, is designed to support graduate students who will be applying to UHREB for their graduate level research thesis project. Whether you are already planning your thesis project or just thinking about initial ideas, this session will help you prepare and figure out how to navigate the process as you work on your own initial graduate level research. In this session, we will look at the ethics process here at UWinnipeg, responsibilities of faculty supervisors, as well as the regulatory framework for ethics compliance in the Canadian context. The presentation will be followed by a short demonstration of the ethics website/resources and a Q&A where you can ask general questions about ethics processes or specific questions about your research project.
