Leanne Shumka is Coordinator of the Awards and Financial Aid office at The University of Winnipeg and has over a decade of personal and professional experience in funding and budgeting to meet educational goals. She is the Manitoba and Saskatchewan Regional Representative for the Canadian Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (CASFAA) Board of Directors and is the Representative for District 57 of the Association of Employees Supporting Educational Services (AESES).

Shumka also holds a MA in History and her research focuses on 20th Century Canadian History and Oral History, with particular attention to social activism, social justice and women and gender studies.
