As a postdoctoral researcher at the Centre for Globalization and Cultural Studies, University of Manitoba, Jessica Jacobson-Konefall's research focuses on cultural studies approaches to ecological contemporary art and literature in Canada, particularly artistic responses to neoliberalism and environmental destruction.

Jacobson-Konefall's research areas include literature and western modernity; Canadian fiction and contemporary arts; critical theory; cultural studies; visual culture; settler colonial studies; Indigenous studies; new materialisms; and, affect. She has co-written one book titled Indigenous New Media Arts: Translocal Cosmologies, and her work has been published in several book chapters and academic journals.
