About:

Jason Aaron Brown was born in Oakville, Ontario and grew up in Winnipeg. He completed his BA (Hons.) in history at the University of Manitoba in 2011, and his MA in medieval studies at the University of Toronto in 2013. He is currently writing his dissertation for a PhD in medieval studies at the University of Toronto.

Brown's field of expertise is the history of economic thought, particularly the ethical obligations involved in economic activity. He studies this subject from the perspective of the history of jurisprudence and moral theology. His area of research focuses on the Catholic social teaching on rights and duties in the marketplace, which has a long pedigree dating back to the Middle Ages.

He is also an expert in Latin and in medieval manuscript studies. Brown has been teaching Latin and manuscript studies since 2015, at the University of Toronto, Durham University (England), and The University of Winnipeg.
