Biography:

Dr. Melanie Dennis Unrau is a SSHRC Postdoctoral Fellow in English and Comparative Literature at Columbia University. She has a PhD in English from the University of Manitoba; she wrote a dissertation on poetry written by oil workers in Canada. Her poetry collection Happiness Threads: The Unborn Poems (2013) was nominated for two Manitoba Book Awards. Melanie is poetry editor of Geez magazine and a co-editor of The Goose: A Journal of Arts, Environment, and Culture in Canada.
