English Language Program Fees Information

Tuition fees for each specific program is listed under the program link on English Language Programs.

After thoughtful consideration for our students, The University of Winnipeg’s English Language Program has implemented a freeze on specific upcoming student fees. Winter 2021 and Spring 2021 fees will remain at the prior year pricing model.

Application Fee: $120 is due with the submission of the program application form (Required for 1st time applicants only. If you apply to another UW program and have paid their application fee, your application fee will be waived). A tuition deposit of $500 is also required when you submitting your application, in order to secure a spot in our program and to receive a Letter of Acceptance. The final remaining tuition fee payment is due three weeks before the program start date; a $100 late payment fee will be applied after the deadline. Students may be required to purchase course textbooks.

NOTE: All programs, dates, policies, and fees are subject to change without notice.  The University of Winnipeg reserves the right to cancel courses or programs; in these cases, all payments are returned to students. All fees are listed and due in Canadian dollars. Students may be required to purchase textbooks for classes which can range between $60 – $120 per course and depend on course placement.

Payment method:

Credit card: include your credit information when you apply.

International payment: use your student number to pay online through Flywire. For more information, visit the International Payments page.

Debit card / Cash / Cheque: In-person when at the ELP registration office to pay your fees.

Withdraw

Admitted ELP students who wish to withdraw their application must have to submit a written notice to the Registration Office. Not attending class do not constitute official voluntary withdrawal from either a course or a program.

Refund Policy:

  • The application fee, health insurance fee*, and tuition deposit are non-refundable.
  • The tuition fee is non-refundable after the application deadline which is two weeks before the program start date.
  • The tuition fee and health insurance fee* are refundable if your visa/study permit is denied but ELP must receive written notice at least two weeks before the program start date. To receive a refund, original documentation from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada must be sent to the Registration Office, 515 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, R3B 2E9 for review. You will be charged a $150 administrative fee.
  • The tuition fee and health insurance fee* are refundable if you wish to withdraw voluntarily before the application deadline which is two weeks before the program start date. To receive a refund, ELP must receive written notice at least two weeks before the program start date. You will be charged a $1000 administrative fee.

*The health insurance fees are only refundable if your visa/study permit has been denied and/or if you voluntarily withdraw from the program before the application deadline, and you have provided written notice at least two weeks before the program start date.
