Federated Co-operatives LogoFederated Co-operatives

Over 85 years ago, retail co-operatives across Western Canada began forming a federation of wholesale co-operatives that would increase their buying power as they helped to build, feed and fuel communities. Their foresight created Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL), a unique wholesaling, manufacturing and marketing co-operative that generated $9.4 billion in sales and $879 million in net earnings in 2013. Together, FCL and the 225 independent retail co-operatives that own it form the Co-operative Retailing System. Collectively, over 23,000 dedicated employees serve more than 1.6 million individual co-op members and millions more non-member customers through a network of 2,500 retail locations in over 500 communities. FCL is the largest non-financial co-operative in Canada and the Financial Post ranks FCL as the country's top wholesaler and 45th largest company.
