Fall/Winter 2017-18

February 1, 2017 - Deadline to submit the 2017-18 Entrance Scholarship application.

March 1, 2017 – Date by which high school students should apply for admissions to be considered for a Special Entrance Scholarship.

June 1, 2017 – Application for Manitoba Student Aid will open for the Fall term (Sept.-Dec.) and Fall/Winter academic session (Sept.-Apr.). Those registered full-time (at least 9 credit hours per term) should apply online. Part-time students must obtain a paper copy (available online, from the Manitoba Student Aid office, or from our office). For out-of-province students, please refer to your Provincial government student aid branch for application information.

June 2, 2017 - Deadline to submit the President's Scholarship for World Leaders application.

August 18, 2017 - Deadline to apply for the Sir William Stephenson Scholarship and Dr. and Mrs. Roderick Hunter Scholarship Application

August 25, 2017 - Deadline to submit a Work-Study position request (for UW Staff).

September 1, 2017 - Date when the Awards & Financial Aid Office will begin signing Confirmation of Enrollment Forms (Schedule 2s) for previous government student loan recipients who are attending the UW, but will not be receiving Government Student Aid in the 2017-18 Fall/Winter session. The forms are available online and/or from our office.

September 5, 2017 - First day of fall term classes. Fall and Fall/Winter tuition fees due.

September 15, 2017 - In-Course Awards & Bursaries and Opportunity Fund Fast Tack Bursary application deadlines.

September 18, 2017 - Last day to drop Fall and Fall/Winter courses to get a full refund.

October 6, 2017 - In-Course Scholarships application deadline.

November 30, 2017 - Students seeking government student aid funding for the Winter term only should apply before this date to ensure their funding is received at the start of term.

December 1, 2017 - Deadline to apply for a Work-Study position (for students).

Mid-December 2017 - Approximate time in which refund cheques will be mailed to registered students with credits on their account as a result of government student aid overpayment and/or award(s). 

Before December end 2017 - students who applied for Government Student Aid must submit outstanding documents before the end of the first term to avoid delays on second term disbursements.

December 22 to January 2 - University is closed for the Christmas break.

January 3, 2018 - University re-opens. Date when the Awards & Financial Aid Office will begin signing Confirmation of Enrollment forms (Schedule 2s) for previous government student loan recipients who are attending the UW for the 2018 Winter term, but will not be receiving Government Student Aid.

Janaury 19, 2018 - Research Awards application deadline.

January 31, 2018 - General Bursary application deadline for the Winter term.

April 16, 2018 - Convocation Awards application deadline (for undergraduate students who are graduating in October 2017, Feburary 2018 or June 2018).

Early April 2018 - Approximate time in which refund cheques will be mailed to registered students with credits on their account as a result of government student aid overpayment and/or award(s).
