Faculty of Arts

Dr. Jaqueline McLeod Rogers
The Faculty of Arts welcomes Dr. Jaqueline McLeod Rogers as Acting Associate Dean of Arts as of Jan. 1, 2018.

Dr. Jaqueline McLeod Rogers is a Professor in the Department of Rhetoric, Writing and Communications at the University of Winnipeg, and has just completed a term as Chair. She is looking forward to the challenge of serving as Acting Associate Dean of Arts for the 2018 calendar year—and to the pleasure of working with the Dean and all staff associated with the office.

She has published several books (Aspects of the Female Novel and Two Sides to a Story: Gender Difference in Student Narrative), several composition textbooks for Canadian students, and many articles. Her recent work has centred on studying Marshall McLuhan’s theory—particularly the connection between communication and urban and design theory. She recently co-edited a book-length collection of new articles, Finding Marshall McLuhan: Is the Medium Still the Message? (with C. Taylor and T. Whalen,  University of Regina, 2014). She wrote the final section devoted to interviews, and was sole author of the article “McLuhan and the City.” She co-edited a special edition of the journal Imaginations on “McLuhan and the Arts” (with A. Lauder, December 2017) and has articles on McLuhan’s theory of perception and knowing, on urban theory and mapping, and on mommy blogging privacy ethics (with F. Green) forthcoming.
