Biography:

Caroline Doenmez is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Anthropology at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities in Minneapolis, MN with research expertise in Indigenous feminisms, human rights, medical anthropology, and visual anthropology. Her M.A. in Human Rights Studies (Columbia University, New York) focused on the issues of missing and murdered Indigenous women in Canada. Her Ph.D. research is examining birthing experiences of Indigenous women in Manitoba. She adopts a community-based approach to Indigenous health, and is currently collaborating with Dr. Jaime Cidro’s Indigenous health research.
