Welcome

The University of Winnipeg Retirees Association, Inc. (UWRA) was established on September 19, 2001. Initially, the Association was formed to ensure that retirees were represented on the University of Winnipeg Pension Board of Trustees. Today, UWRA has become much more: a unified voice to retirees; a means for continuing fellowship and communication amongst retirees; a liaison between retirees and the University; a vehicle to encourage members to donate their time and resources to appropriate University activities; and, a forum for discussions by its members on topics of interest including pension issues.

All retirees of the University of Winnipeg are warmly encouraged to join and participate in the activities of UWRA.

Governed by an elected Board of Directors, UWRA seeks to enrich the quality of life and promote the well-being and development of its members. The annual fee for a regular membership is $20; an annual Associate membership is $10.  Or, perhaps a one-time Life membership at $140 may be appealing to you – new retirees enjoy a reduced fee of $70.00 (balance donated by the University of Winnipeg).

Monthly meetings provide an opportunity to discuss association business, renew friendships and enjoy some refreshments while listening to an interesting program of guest speakers. Members may take advantage of wide range of on-campus activities at special rates.

Since 2001, UWRA has been affiliated with CURAC, the College and University Retirees Association of Canada.

UWRA uses email as the primary format in which to communicate to its membership (seasonal newsletters, association and campus news, notices and events of interest).  General inquiries can be sent to: UWRA@uwinnipeg.ca
