UWinnipeg and Winnipeg Technical College
Shared Courses
This year, the students in Winnipeg Technical Colleges Network Systems Administration Program will benefit from the addition of UWinnipegs Programming Fundamentals course into the curriculum. The course will be taught at WTC by a UWinnipeg instructor, and will be recognized as a transfer credit if WTC students choose to continue in Applied Computer Sciences at UWinnipeg.
Foundations I and II
Sponsored by Manitoba Immigrant Integration Program, and funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada and Labour and Immigration Manitoba, a new section of the Foundations I and II courses was opened for both Winnipeg Technical College and UWinnipeg English Language Program (ELP) students at Benchmark levels 5 and 6. This ELP course will help students develop the necessary language skills to proceed into other programs at both WTC and UWinnipeg. Students who complete Foundations II successfully will automatically be eligible to take other academic or professional English for Specific Purposes (ESP) courses.
Starting Fall 2012, students can learn about the fundamentals of business at the Henlow Bay campus of Winnipeg Technical College. Introduction to Business I provides the foundation for people wanting to start their own business, or become better supervisors or managers in a company. The course is an integral component of other diplomas and degrees at UWinnipeg, opening a variety of transfer credit and laddering opportunities for students.
