NEW - Restaurant & Food Services Entrepreneurship Diploma - register now for July 2013 start
For the first time in Manitoba, an 18 month diploma has been tailored to support contemporary restaurant and food service entrepreneurs. Winnipeg Technical College (WTC) and The University of Winnipeg (UWinnipeg) are now offering a new program that equips students with the hands-on skills and business acumen necessary to succeed in both the front and back-end of the restaurant and food services industry.
The
Restaurant & Food Services Entrepreneurship Diploma joins two currently existing programs: the Culinary Arts &
Design Program (WTC) and UWinnipegs Business and Economics Bachelor of
Business Administration. Supported by Manitoba
industry, graduates will gain the skills, knowledge and competencies to
function in various capacities including owning or managing a restaurant or a
food service establishment. Topics include culinary arts and design, food
politics, management, human resources planning, marketing, legal issues in
business, business communication, small business ownership, accounting, and
financial management. There is also a one year optional mentorship
placement.
