Men's Basketball (Wesmen Classic)WESMEN 80 RMC 56
The host Winnipeg Wesmen defeated the RMC Palladins 80-56 in their opening game of the MTS Wesmen Classic. A large gathering of over 1500 spectators saw the Wesmen take a commanding lead of 21-9 after the opening quarter. RMC played a better second quarter but the Wesmen still went into halftime with a 39-29 lead. The third quarter was the story of this game as Winnipeg outscored RMC 24-2 to take a commanding 63-31 lead after three quarters. The Wesmen were able to rest their starters in the fourth quarter as Coach Crook was able to give every player decent playing time. Fifth year guard Erfan Nasajpour led the Wesmen with 18 points, three assists and six steals. David Duizer had 19 points for RMC as well as Nicolas Cooke who also added 16 rebounds. Winnipeg will face the winner of the Manitoba-Minot State in the semi finals Saturday night at 6:00 p.m.

WESMEN 55 Minot State 90
The Winnipeg Wesmen dropped a 90-55 decision to the Minot State Beavers in the opening game of the Minot State Invitatiional Tournament in Minot, North Dakota. Amy Ogidan led Winnipeg with 10 points. The Wesmen will take on the Beavers tomorrow night at 7:00 p.m.

Men's Basketball (Wesmen Classic Semi Final)
WESMEN 53 Minot State 77
The Minot State Beavers advanced to the Championship Final of the MTS Wesmen Classic with a 77-53 victory over the host Winnipeg Wesmen. Senior forward Matt Witwer led the Beavers with a game high 20 points, including a apir of three pointers. Second year post Mike James led the Wesmen with 16 points. Minot State put the Wesmen in a hole early building a 19-10 opening quarter lead, which included 11 straight points and extended their lead to 40-25 at halftime. Winnipeg ran into foul trouble and costly turnovers in the second half as the Beavers extended their lead to 59-37 after three quarters of play. Minot State will meet the winner of the Calgary – Brock semi final in the championship final Sunday evening at 8:00 p.m. The host Wesmen will take on the semi final loser in the third place game Sunday afternoon at 4:00 p.m.

WESMEN 45 Minot State 74
The Winnipeg Wesmen lost their second consecutive game to the Minot State Beavers at the Minot State Invitational Tournament. The Wesmen were defeated 74-45 in the team's final game of the tournament. Catie Gooch led the Wesmen with 15 points.

Men's Basketball (Wesmen Classic Third Place Game)WESMEN 79 Calgary 99
The Calgary Dinos handed the Winnipeg Wesmen their second loss of the 41st Wesmen Classic with a 99-79 victory over the host Wesmen in the third place game. The game was close at halftime with the Dinos holding a 46-38 lead at the break. Winnipeg started strong in the third quarter going on a 6-0 run in the first two minutes to close the gap to 46-44 in favour of the Dinos. The Dinos would close out the quarter outscoring Winnipeg 26-12 to hold a 72-56 lead after three quarters. Calgary continued their strong play in the fourth quarter keeping the Wesmen off balance and unable to muster any attack. Ross Bekkering led the Dinos with 25 points. Fifth year guard Erfan Nasajpour of the Wesmen scored a game high 36 points, including six three pointers.
