WESMEN DOMINATE SECOND HALF TO DEFEAT SAIT
The Wesmen outscored SAIT (Southern Alberta Institute of Technology) 53-15 in the second half to cruise to a 94-58 victory in the opening game of the Midway Chrysler Invitational in front of 1700 spectators Friday night at the Duckworth Centre. The Wesmen trailed the Trojans 43-41 at halftime, despite shooting an impressive 50% from the field. The second half was a different story as the Wesmen connected on 58% of their shots from the field and held the Trojans to just 4-of-29 from the field in the second half. The Wesmen were rattled at the end of the first half after consecutive technical fouls were called on Head Coach Dave Crook and forward Dwhyte Brissett, the Trojans went on a 8-2 run to end the first half. The Wesmen stormed out of the gate in the second half going on a 16-2 run in the first five minutes of the half. Third year guard Erfan Nasajpour led the Wesmen with 24 points on 10-for-15 shooting from the field. Dan Shynkaryk was solid as well scoring 22 points and adding six rebounds. The Wesmen had four players in double digits in the victory. The next action for the Wesmen is Saturday October 21 as they take on Mayville State at 6:30 p.m.

WESMEN LOSE TO HOT SHOOTING COMETS
The Wesmen could only stand by and watch as the Mayville State Comets connected on 13-of-23 three pointers to propel them to a 97-75 victory Saturday night at the Midway Chrysler Invitational in front of 1700 spectators at the Duckworth Centre. Third year forward Dan Shynkaryk led the Wesmen with a game high 28 points and guard Erfan Nasajpour added 21 points in the loss. The Wesmen were in trouble early as Mayville scored five three pointers to build a 30-17 lead just past the mid-way point of the first half. The Wesmen settled down and had their first lead of the game 40-39 after going on a 23-9 run. In the final two minutes of the first half Mayville outscored the Wesmen 12-1 to build a 51-41 hlftime lead. The Comets continued their hot shooting in the second half outscoring the Wesmen 46-34 to earn the victory. " We could not make a shot and they made theirs", said Head Coach Dave Crook, as he watched his team shoot 42% from the field but only were able to connect on 3-of-19 from three point land. The Wesmen finish the tournament with a 1-1 record and will now prepare for their regular season opening game Thursday night as they host the University of Manitoba Bisons.Manitoba 67 SAIT 62
