Wesmen Players of the Week

Each week during the� 2012-2013 season, one male and one female athlete will be chosen as the Pizza Hotline Wesmen Male/Female Athletes of the Week.



Briston Brenton Men's Wrestling Brenton finished off a successful season in style winning the gold medal in the 82 kg weight class at this past weekend's CIS Wrestling Championships in London, Ontario. Brenton finished the two day competition with a perfect 4-0 record and was named a First Team All-Canadian. He finished the season with a total of six gold medals in CIS and Canada West competitions.	Jessica Brenton (Women's Wrestling) The second year wrestler and last year's Canada West Female Wrestling Rookie of the Year picks up her second player of the week award of the season. Jessica placed sixth in the 63 kg weight class at this past weekend's CIS Wrestling Championships in London, Ontario. She finished the 2012-2013 season with a total of three medals (one silver and two bronze).

Mike Villanueva
Men's Basketball

Villaneuva played a vital role in helping the College Wesmen Men's Basketball team finish second at the MCAC Final Four Basketball Championships. Villanueva had 33 points, including nine-three pointers, 12 rebounds and four assists in the two games. In Friday's 69-50 win over CMU, Villanueva scored 23 points, including seven-three pointers and hauled in seven rebounds. He was named to the MCAC All-Conference Team.

Brittany Rosenfelt
Women's Basketball

Rosenfelt wins her second Player of the Week award after helping the College Wesmen win a silver medal at the 2013 MCAC Final Four. She finished the two games with 22 points, 19 rebounds, nine steals and two blocks. In Saturday's championship game she had 16 points, nine rebounds and four steals. She was named to the MCAC All-Conference Team.
