Friday, June 16, 2006 - The University of Winnipeg Wesmen would like to congratulate fourth year women's volleyball player Lee Hrenchuk for being named the recipient of the Tom Kendall Award for the second consecutive year. The award is given out annually to the Wesmen athlete who sustains the highest grade point average in the previous academic year.


BRIANNE COLLETTE NAMED CJS GRADE 12 FEMALE ATHLETE OF THE YEAR

Friday, June 16, 2006 - The University of Winnipeg Wesmen would like to congratulate women's volleyball recruit Brianne Collette for being named the College Jeanne Sauve Grade 12 Female Athlete of the Year. Collette committed to the University of Winnipeg in May and will be joining Head Coach Diane Scott's Women's Volleyball Program in September.


MEN'S BASKETBALL RECRUITS NAMED OAK PARK HIGH SCHOOL MALE ATHLETES OF THE YEAR

Wednesday, June 14, 2006 - The University of Winnipeg Wesmen would like to congratulate Mike James and James Horaska for being named the Oak Park High School Male Athletes of the Year for the 2005-06 academic year. James and Horaska both committed to the University of Winnipeg in May and will be joining the Wesmen Men's Basketball Program in September.


phil swartWESMEN ATHLETE DOUBLE GOLD MEDAL WINNER AT SPRING CONVOCATION

Wednesday, June 7, 2006 - The University of Winnipeg Wesmen would like to congratulate fifth year men's basketball player Phil Swart for being honored as a double gold medal winner at this past Sunday's Spring Convocation. Phil received a University Gold Medal for achievement in a four year course (Administrative Studies) and also received a gold medal for achievement in a general course (Economics). The University Gold Medal is the highest honor that is given out at the University of Winnipeg's Convocation.
