WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL

The women’s team had a very busy week. Last Thursday evening the team took on the Wesmen Alumni in the annual Alumni Challenge. The team played very well in defeating the Alumni 2-1. On Friday the team headed to Regina to take part in the University of Regina Cougar Invitational Tournament. The Wesmen finished the preliminary round with a 2-1 record with victories over Simon Fraser and Brandon. The team’s only loss in the preliminary round was to Alberta on Friday night. In the first game of the playoff round, the Wesmen dropped a 3-0 decision to the eventual winners of the tournament, the University of Calgary Dinos. The team’s hopes of coming home with a medal were dashed, as the University of Manitoba Bisons defeated the Wesmen 3-1 in the bronze medal match.

MEN’S VOLLEYBALL

Larry McKay’s team has been declared for the upcoming 2005/2006 season. The team had a chance to get into a game situation by challenging the Alumni team in the annual Alumni Challenge. The team played very well and showed that they will be a force this year. The Wesmen defeated the Alumni in three tough sets.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

Coach Tanya McKay is getting her squad ready for the 2005/2006 season. The team took part in the annual intra-squad game last Wednesday and they put on a great show for the Wesmen supporters and of course they're own families. Even though it was only a "fun" game, the girls showed their competitive nature against each other. If the team is this competitive in regular season games then they will be a team to look out for. On Wednesday the team will take on the Wesmen Alumni in the annual Alumni Challenge.

MEN’S BASKETBALL

Coach Dave Crook had a chance to see his team in action as they participated in the annual intra-squad game. The game was highly competitive and the team already looks improved from last year. On Wednesday the team will be taking on the Wesmen Alumni in the annual Alumni Challenge.
