TRIO OF VOLLEYBALL PLAYERS INVITED TO SENIOR MEN’S SELECTION CAMP
Thursday, April 3, 2008 – The University of Winnipeg in conjunction with Team Canada Volleyball is pleased to announce that men’s volleyball players Ben Schellenberg, Dustin Addison-Schneider and Andrew Town have been invited to the 2008 Senior Men’s Selection Camp.
Canada’s top men’s volleyball players will take part in the Selection Camp May 8th – 11th at the University of Manitoba, which will include members of last year’s Senior men’s team, as well as newly identified talent from the university and professional ranks.
The intention is to select up to 20 athletes to train in the Team Canada Volleyball Centre in Winnipeg over the summer. The roster will be comprised of a combination of young veterans and new athletes possessing potential to lead Canada to berths in the 2010 World Championships and 2012 Olympic Games in London, England, as well as longer term success for 2013-2016 quadrennial.
The goals of this year’s Senior Men’s team is a top three finish in the Pan American Cup (Winnipeg, June 2-8) and a berth in the 2009 America’s Cup.
