MIRANDA GRAYSON COMMITS TO WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL PROGRAM

Monday, June 8, 2009 - The University of Winnipeg and Women's Volleyball Head Coach Diane Scott are pleased to announce that Miranda Grayson from Lord Selkirk Secondary School has committed to joining the University of Winnipeg Women's Volleyball program in September.

The 5'10" Right Side/Left Side will graduate from Lord Selkirk this June with an academic average of 91%. She will be enrolling in the Department of Kinesiology in line for a career in Occupational Therapy.

Miranda was the captain of both her highschool volleyball and basketball teams, and a member of the Lord Selkirk girl's soccer team this past season. In 2006 Miranda's JV team won the JV Urban Championship, earning Grayson the MVP. In 2007 Miranda played a key role in Lord Selkirk Royals winning their 4A Provincial Championship.

Miranda has been a member of the Jr Wesmen Girl's Volleyball Club the past two season's where she played a significant role in the team's success! She was also a member of the Manitoba Provincial Team in 2007 & 2008, winning Gold at Western Elites in 2007 and Silver at the NTCC in 2008.

Miranda is a solid student, presently carrying a 91 % average, she is the co-chair of Youth in Philanthropy, and is a nominee for the Credit Union Scholar/Athlete Award. Miranda has been the Athlete of the Year at her respective schools from grade 6 thru 10 and is a nominee for this years award at Lord Selkirk.
