JR. WESMEN GIRL’S 17U VOLLEYBALL TEAM WINS GOLD MEDAL
Friday, April 18, 2008 – The Jr.Wesmen Girl’s 17U volleyball team won the gold medal at the first annual Jr. Wesmen Girl’s Volleyball Invitational Tournament held last weekend.
The 17U team coached by Craig McKenzie, Miyuki Kuroiwa and Diane Scott defeated the Bison 16U team in the gold medal match. The Avalanche 17U team finished in third place.
The tournament featured 12 teams comprised of a combination of 16U/17U teams from Winnipeg and as far away as Flin Flon and Dryden, Ontario.
This weekend the Jr.Wesmen 17U team will be competing in the Provincial Championships in Virden, Manitoba to prepare for the National Championships which will be held in Ottawa, Ontario on May 2-4, 2008.
