Jr. Wesmen Girl's Volleyball - Provincial Championship Results

Monday, May 6, 2013 - The Jr. Wesmen 15u and 16u Girl's Volleyball Teams came home from the 2013 Provincial Championships with successful results. The 16u team finished in fourth place while the 15u squad finished in fifth place. Overall it was a great weekend for both teams. Congratulations to all the players and coaches.


Jr. Wesmen Girl's Volleyball Results - IMPACT Tournament

Monday, April 15, 2013 - The Jr. Wesmen 15u and 16u Girl's Volleyball Teams took part in the Impact Tournament this past weekend. The 16U team finished the tournament in first place while the 15U team had a respectable third place finish. Congratulations to the players and coaches on another successful tournament.



Jr. Wesmen Girl's Volleyball Teams Win Gold Medals
Monday, April 8, 2013 - 15U Jr. Wesmen Girls (Coaches: Lauren Sears and Alix Krahn)
The 15U girls played Club West in the round robin losing the split and also lost the split by one point to Brash in the round robin. They conquered Club West 2-0 in the semi final to meet up with Brash again in the final.They won a gold medal with a 2-0 victory over Brash.

16U Jr. Wesmen Girls (Coaches: Steph Ringer and Marlee Bragg)
After finishing 2nd during round robin play they defeated Amrak Vikings 2-0 (25-18, 25-21) in the semi final to advance to the final match against Impact, a team they had not yet been able to defeat.After losing the first set 25-11, they came back to win the next two 26-24 and 15-13 for a hard fought gold medal finish. 

Jr. Wesmen 16U Red Warriors Win Gold At Nationals

Tuesday, May 22, 2012 - The Jr. Wesmen Girl's Volleyball 16U Red Warriors squad won the gold medal at the National Championship Tournament this past weekend in Toronto, Ontario. The team finished the tournament with nine straight victories highlighted by a decisive 25-8, 25-22 win over the Scarborough Scorpions in the final match.

Congratulations to all the players and coaches Stephanie Ringer and Marlee Bragg for a total team effort all season long.



Jr. Wesmen Girl's Volleyball Win Consecutive Tournaments

Monday, March 19, 2012 - For the second weekend in a row the Jr Wesmen GVB 16U Red Warriors are Volleyball Tournament Champions. This past weekend in Brandon at the annual Storm GVB Volleyball Tournament ,the Red Warriors defeated the Dauphin/Virden Vipers 2-0, 26-24 & 25-23.  Aggressive serving and a strong block performance by the middle blockers was key to the victory.

Last weekend the Jr.Wesmen Red Warriors defeated Fusion in the Fury Tournament in three sets.

The team is coached by Women's Volleyball Assistant Coach Stephanie Ringer and former Wesmen Player Marlee Bragg.

Congratulations to the entire team.



18U Team Close Out Season With Win In California

- The 18U Jr. Wesmen team closed out the season with an impressive 2-1 victory over Rocklyn in the championship final of the NorCal Invitational Tournament held this past weekend in Sacramento, California. The Wesmen won the third and final set by a score of 15-10.

"What a great finish to the season. This trip to California was the icing on the cake to a long season of club volleyball. We are very proud of the girl's for their commitment and effort. Winning gold was perfect", added coaches Diane Scott, Leah Brezinski and Christie Nairn.




18U Girls Volleyball Team Wins Gold At Club Nationals    

Monday, May 17, 2010 - The Jr. Wesmen 18U Girl's Volleyball team captured the gold medal in tier 1 division three at this past weekend's Club Nationals in Abbotsford, British Columbia.

The 17U Black Aces and Red Diggers both competed well throughout the weekend and showed great improvement throughout the season.





JR. WESMEN GVB SQUADS HAVE SUCCESSFULL WEEKEND AT NATIONALS

Monday, May 4, 2009 - The Jr. Wesmen 18U GVB team finished in fifth place at this past weekend's National Championships held in Ottawa, Ontario. The Wesmen were defeated in the quarter finals 2-1 (25-21, 24-26, 15-12) by Fort City. "It was an outstanding effort by the team the entire weekend. They battled hard and gained a great deal of respect representing the Jr. Wesmen and the University of Winnipeg. The coaches Craig McKenzie, Krysta Dickson and Jessica Kleysen did an outstanding job with the team", said Women's Volleyball Program Head Coach Diane Scott. The 17U squad finished in first place in tier 1 division four



JR. WESMEN VOLLEYBALL TEAMS TAKE PART IN PROVINCIAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

Monday, April 20, 2009 - The Jr.Wesmen 18U Girl's team had a successful weekend at the Provincial Championships held this past weekend. The team finished in second place after dropping a tough three set decision (25-12, 23-25,15-13) decision to the Storm. Wesmen recruit Carleen Kruschel and Danika Hughes were named to the Tournament All-Star Team. The 17U team also had success finishing in the top eight in their category. Both teams qualified for the National Championships that will take place from May 1 - 3 in Ottawa, Ontario.


JR. WESMEN VOLLEYBALL TEAMS IN ACTION

Monday, April 13, 2009 -The GVB 18U team were in Calgary participating in the Best of the West Tournament where 12 of the top 18U club teams partcipated. The Jr.Wesmen lost 2-1 to the Dinos and finished in fourth place. The fourth place standing earned the team $2000 for their charity of choice which was the Manitoba Alzheimer Society. The 17U team finished in fifth place at the BVC GVB Club Tournament.The 17U and 18U teams will compete this upcoming weekend at the MVA Provincials to prepare for the Nationals.


JR. WESMEN 18U GIRLS VOLLEYBALL TEAM STRIKE GOLD IN BRANDON

Monday, March 23, 2009 - The Jr.Wesmen 18U Girl's Volleyball Team won the gold medal at the Storm Volleyball Tournament in Brandon this past weekend. The Wesmen defeated the host Storm 17's 2-0 (25-23, 25-18) in the final match. The Jr. Wesmen 17U team finished in 10th place.


JR. WESMEN 17U GIRLS VOLLEYBALL TEAM WINS TOURNAMENT

Monday, March 16, 2009 - The Jr.Wesmen 17U Girl's Volleyball team continued their strong play this season by defeating the Bison Gold 17U team in three sets this past Saturday to win the Dynamite Tournament.
