Duff Selected To National Senior Men's Volleyball Team
Men's Volleyball Player Justin Duff Has Earned A Spot On The National Men's B Team..
Wednesday, May 19, 2010 - The University of Winnipeg and Volleyball Canada are pleased to announce that mens volleyball player Justin Duff has been selected to the National Mens B Team. The selection was made at the conclusion of the Senior Mens Volleyball selection camp held last week in Gatineau, Quebec.
The National B team will train extensively this summer along with the Senior A squad, who are vying at qualifying for the 2012 Olympics in London, England. The next tournament of any consequence for the B team will be the FISU games in 2011 taking place in China.I am pleased to have been selected to the National Team program. I want to thank everyone I have been involved with at the University of Winnipeg for their support, said Duff.
The 67 middle recently completed his fourth season with the Wesmen, was named a First Team All-Canadian and was honoured as the University of Winnipegs Male Athlete of the Year. He finished in the top ten in several Canada West categories including, 2nd in hitting percentage (.448), 4th in points (4.32 ppg), and 5th in kills (3.43 kpg). During the season he led the team in kills (279), blocks (73) and points (345).
Another local player who has made it all the way to the National Team level, we in the Wesmen Men's Volleyball program are all proud of Justin's selection to the National B Team. He has worked very hard for this selection both within our program and on his own time, added Wesmen Head Coach Larry McKay.
