Vincent Massey Grad Britley Wermie Has Committed to Joining The Women's Basketball Program For The 2010-2011 Season.
Friday, May 14, 2010 - The University of Winnipeg and Womens Basketball Head Coach Tanya McKay are pleased to announce that Britley Wermie has committed to joining the Wesmen for the 2010-2011 season.
Wermie, 59 guard joins the Wesmen from Vincent Massey Collegiate (Winnipeg). She was a member of the Trojan squad that won the AAAA provincial Championship this past March. She averaged 17 points, 13 rebounds and five steals per game last season and was named a tournament all-star at the St.Vital Tournament.Britley will become the sixth player from Vincent Massey on the current Wesmen roster. She will join first year players Stephanie Kleysen and Ashleigh Chicholowski along with veteran players Mackenzie Prasek and Adele and Danielle Baril.
Britley is a very athletic guard. She defends very well and crashes the boards for rebounds. She will bring a nice scoring touch, having the ability to hit the open three and score out of transition. Britley played a key role in Vincent Massey's AAAA Provincial championship. A very hard worker, we are very excited she has committed to our Wesmen Program said Wesmen Head Coach Tanya McKay.
