Larry McKay Named Head Coach of Men's National 'B' Team

Men's Volleyball Head Coach Larry McKay Has Been Named The Head Coach of The National Men's 'B' Volleyball Team..


Monday, April 26, 2010 - The University of Winnipeg in conjunction with Team Canada Volleyball is pleased to announce that Larry McKay has been named the Head Coach of the Men's National 'B' Team.

McKay, the current head coach of the University of Winnipeg's Men's Volleyball program for 21 years will begin his tenure with the National 'B' team on May 26 and finish in the middle of June. McKay will train the team that is selected after the National Team tryouts held in Gatineau, Quebec in May.

He will also join the Senior National Team on their tour in Australia and will be part of their coaching staff in preparation for the World Championships this September in Italy. His last head coach position with Volleyball Canada was in 2003 at the FIVB Men's Under 21 World Championships.

"The University of Winnipeg continues to provide me with the opportunity and support in improving myself as a volleyball coach. In my 21 years they have continually encouraged my involvement with the Canadian National Team and other international caliber teams. I engage in these opportunities to continue to improve myself as the men's volleyball coach here at The University of Winnipeg. For the opportunity given me by Volleyball Canada and Team Canada Men's Volleyball, I am again grateful. It continues to be an honour to represent Canada in international sport", added McKay.
