The action was intense all weekend long for the three Wesmen teams that saw action this past
weekend at the Duckworth Centre and on the road. The Women’s Basketball Team had a successful weekend winning both games against Lethbridge. The Men’s Basketball Team took on the Pronghorns in two tough games. On the road in Burnaby, the Women’s Volleyball Team earned a split in their two match series against the Clan.

At the Duckworth Centre Friday night, the Women’s Basketball Team had a strong second half in a 72-63 victory. Catie Gooch led the Wesmen with a game high 22 points. Alex MacIver had a career best 20 points. Jessica Stromberg added a double-double 10 points, 10 rebounds. In the late game, the Men’s Basketball Team was defeated 87-58. Nick Lother led the team with 13 points. Eric Zimmerman and Peter Lomuro finished with 12. On the road in Burnaby, BC, the Women’s Volleyball Team fell short in a tough 3-2 (25-23, 18-25, 23-25, 25-23, 15-10) loss to Simon Fraser. Sonia Rossy led the Wesmen with a match high 20 kills. Ariel Smith finished with 10.

The action continued at the Duckworth Centre Saturday night. The Women’s Basketball Team completed a weekend sweep defeating Lethbridge 85-77 in a thrilling double overtime contest. Amy Ogidan led the team with 27 points. Catie Gooch and Jessica Stromberg each scored 14. In the Men’s game, the Wesmen fell short in a 70-52 loss. Mike James led the Wesmen with 15 points. The Women’s Volleyball Team earned a split in their two match series with the Clan with an impressive 3-1 (26-24, 25-23, 20-25, 25-16) victory. Sonia Rossy led the Wesmen with 13 kills. Ariel Smith finished with 12.
