Nikolic Named Canada West All-Star
Second Year Left Side Women's Volleyball Player Ozana Nikolic Was Named Today As A Canada West Women's Volleyball All-Star For The 2012-2013 Season..
The University of Winnipeg Wesmen and the Canada West Universities Athletic Association are pleased to announce that Womens Volleyball player Ozana Nikolic has been selected as a second team Canada West Womens Volleyball All-Star.
Nikolic, a second year left side led the CIS and Canada West in kills (333), points (381) and placed 8th in the conference in defensive digs. Nikolic recorded a Canada West match high 29 kills against UBC Okanagan (February 2, 2013) and had 21 defensive digs in match at Calgary (November 11, 2012). During the regular season, she recorded 20 plus kills in seven regular season matches. We are very pleased for Ozana to have been recognized by the conference for her efforts as one of the rising players in Canada West and CIS. Coming off an excellent rookie season Ozana definitely had more pressure this year to perform and play a bigger role in a younger team environment. Her offensive game is evident while her overall development as a player continues to improve daily. Ozana is far from reaching her potential, plenty of upside left to witness in the future, said Wesmen Womens Volleyball head coach Diane Scott.
