The University of Winnipeg Wesmen in conjunction with lea marc Printing Solutions are pleased to announce that Women’s Volleyball player Ellina Domnidou and Men’s Basketball player Steven Wesley have been chosen as the lea marc Printing Solutions Wesmen Athletes of the Month.

Domnidou, a second year setter/outside hitter played a vital role in helping the Women's Volleyball team remain in the race for a Canada West Women's Volleyball playoff spot. Domnidou playing in the setter position finished the month with 163 assists (27.0 per match), 33 digs, nine blocks, eight kills and four service aces in the teams six matches played. The highlight of the month came this past Saturday night as the Wesmen upset the No. 3 ranked Alberta Pandas in four sets. Domnidou had 43 assists, 10 digs, three service aces and two blocks in the victory. She was selected as the Wesmen Female Athlete of the Week (January 21).

Wesley, a fourth year forward picks up his second consecutive Athlete of the Month after helping the Men's Basketball team pick up three important wins during the month. In the six games played Wesley scored 123 points (20.5 ppg), grabbed 47 rebounds (7.8 rpg), dished out eight assists and connected on 60% of his shots from the field. Wesley recorded back-to-back double-doubles against the Calgary Dinos including a 30 point, 12 rebound performance (January 24). He was also named the Wesmen Male Player of the Week on two occasions during the month.
