Kleysen,Wesley Named Athletes of the Month
Wesmen Basketball Players Stephanie Kleysen And Steven Wesley Were Recognized today As The Lea Marc Wesmen Athletes Of The Month For December 2012..
The University of Winnipeg in conjunction with lea marc Printing Solutions are pleased to announce that Basketball Players Stephanie Kleysen and Steven Wesley have been chosen as the lea marc Printing Solutions Wesmen Athletes of the Month for December 2012.

Kleysen, a third year guard and team co-captain played a vital role in helping the Women's Basketball team pick up three victories in the month of December. In the five games played (three conference and two non-conference) Kleysen averaged eight points and 10 rebounds per game. She also dished out 15 assists and was stellar on the defensive side of the ball compiling eight steals and seven blocks. Her best performance of the month came at the 22nd Annual Duckworth Challenge (68-60 overtime win vs Manitoba on December 5th). In that game Kleysen scored 14 points, grabbed 18 rebounds and also had three assists and two blocks. She was selected as the Wesmen Duckworth Challenge Player of the Game.

Wesley, a fourth year forward was at his best in helping the Men's Basketball team compile a 5-1 record in December. In the five games, Wesley averaged 14.8 points and 8.6 rebounds per game. He also finished the month with nine assists, nine blocks and six steals. One of his many highlights came at the 22nd Annual Duckworth Challenge (74-71 victory over Manitoba on December 5th). Wesley finished the contest with a double-double - 21 points and 13 rebounds. His performance led to his selection as the Wesmen Duckworth Challenge Player of the Game. He closed out the month by being named to the All-Star Team at the 46th Annual Wesmen Classic.
