The University of Winnipeg Wesmen in conjunction with lea marc Printing Solutions are pleased to announce that Women’s Volleyball player Ozana Nikolic and Men’s Basketball player Benny Iko have been chosen as the lea marc Printing Solutions Wesmen Athletes of the Month for November 2012.

Nikolic, a second year left side and last years CIS Women’s Volleyball Rookie of the Year started the regular season in impressive fashion. In the teams nine matches during the month, Nikolic had 132 kills, 94 digs, 14 blocks, 12 service aces and eight assists. One of her many highlights during the month took place in the team’s 3-0 win in Brandon (November 29). Nikolic had 17 kills, with only one error and a hitting percentage of .696.

Iko a fifth year forward played a big part in helping the Men’s Basketball pick up five victories in the month of November. In the eight games played, Iko scored 113 points (14.1 ppg), grabbed 66 rebounds (8.25 rpg) along with 17-three pointers, 10 assists, eight steals and six blocks. Iko had three consecutive double-doubles including a 27 point, 14 rebound performance against Brandon (November 15). Iko was honoured as both the Canada West and CIS Male Athlete of the Week for the period ending November 18, 2012. He was also selected as the Wesmen Pizza Hotline Male Player of the Week.
