The University of Winnipeg Wesmen would like to congratulate Men's Wrestler Brock Munro for being the recipient of two prestigious scholarships during the month of November.

Munro first received the National RCMP Scholarship, which is given out to students who's parents are active members of the RCMP. The award is based on individuals who have volunteered in the community, maintained an average of 80+ in school and is currently working towards a post secondary degree.

The second scholarship Munro received was the Wicihitowin Foundation Justice Studies Scholarship. The award is made possible by the Regina Police Service and the F Division of the RCMP in Saskatchewan. The award is given to Aboriginal youth who are currently taking Criminal Justice. The award is based on community involvement, career aspirations, commitment to Aboriginal Youth development, family orientated, a drug and alcohol free lifestyle and commitment to self development.

"Brock Munro is a tremendous role model both within our program and the aboriginal community. It is my hope and expectation that his commitment to excellence in all aspects of his life will provide a path for many in his community to follow for years to come", said Wesmen Wrestling head coach Adrian Bruce.
