Justin Duff Impressive For Team Canada
The impressive play of Wesmen middle blocker Justin Duff at the 2009 NORCECA Men’s Continental Volleyball Championships in Bayamon, Puerto Rico has played a huge part in leading Team Canada to the semi final round.
Duff, in his fourth year with the University of Winnipeg Men’s Volleyball program has started and played in every set during the preliminary round where Canada finished with a record of 2-1.
He was the teams leading blocker in a four set victory over Mexico with six points and followed that up with an impressive showing in a four set defeat to the United States once again leading the team in blocks (three points).
Canada defeated the Dominican Republic in a dramatic five set quarter final match yesterday and will face Cuba in the semi finals this evening.
Duff is not the only Wesmen playing for Team Canada at these championships. Richard Wiebe, who played a huge role in helping the Wesmen capture their record tying 10th Tantramar Trophy in 2006-2007, is also featured on the Team Canada roster.
