Enns, Bommersbach Added To Men's Volleyball Roster

Men's Volleyball Head Coach Larry McKay Added Two Players To His Roster. Kieran Enns And Michael Bommersbach Will Join The Team In September..


The University of Winnipeg Wesmen and head coach Larry McKay are pleased to announce that Kieran Enns and Michael Bommersbach have committed to joining the University of Winnipeg’s Men’s Volleyball Program for the start of the 2012-2013 season in September.


Kieran Enns
a 6’7” middle was a member of the Mennonite Collegiate Institute (Gretna, Manitoba) Blues team that won the AA Provincial Boy’s Volleyball Championship last November. Kieran’s consistent play led to his selection as the tournaments Most Valuable Player. Following the season he was named a Graduating All-Star and was recently honoured as one of the recipients of the Dale Iwanoczko Memorial Scholarship. Enns was a member of the 17U Provincial Team last summer and played a vital part in helping the squad win the Western Elites Tournament.


Michael Bommersbach
a 6’1 setter joins the Wesmen after winning a Provincial AAAA Championship with the Miles MacDonell Buckeyes last November. He was named a Tournament All-Star and was also honoured as a Graduating All-Star by the Manitoba Volleyball Association. Michael was a starter with the Manitoba Provincial Team this past summer along with fellow Buckeye and Wesmen recruit Casey Schouten. His brother Kevin suited up for the Wesmen in 2010-2011.

“Kieran has the physical characteristics to play the middle blocker position in our league.  His improvement in the last year has been impressive. Michael has been a top setter in his age group for years.  He's a tireless worker with great drive. We are pleased to have these two talented players join our program”, added Wesmen head coach Larry McKay.
