Female wrestler Jessica Brenton finished in first place in the 59 kg weight class and was named as the Most Outstanding Female Wrestler of the inaugural Wesmen Open. Brenton beat Koren Pitkethly (Saskatchewan) in the first place match. Caroline Tess placed fourth in the 63 kg weight class. The women's team finished the meet in third place with 10 points. Lakehead finished in first with 28 points, followed by Saskatchewan with 22.On the men's side Mat Tripple placed second in the 76 kg class and Nathan Sullivan finished in fourth in the 68 kg weight class.

The next meet for the Wesmen Wrestling program is the Canada West Wrestling Championships in Regina, Saskatchewan on February 10-11.

The Jr.Wesmen Girl's team won the team title defeating Dryden and West Kildonan.
