Schneider Named Top Setter

Former Wesmen Men's Volleyball Star Dustin Schneider Was Named The Top Setter At The NORCECA Men's Volleyball Championships..


The University of Winnipeg Wesmen would like to congratulate former men's volleyball star and current National Team member Dustin Schneider on being named the top setter at the NORCECA men's volleyball championships in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico.

It is the second tournament in a row that Schneider was honoured with a major award. Last month he was named the Most Valuable Player at a tournament held in Estonia in which Team Canada won the gold medal.

Schneider, a 6’0” setter from Brandon, Manitoba completed his fifth and final season of university level volleyball with the Wesmen back in 2007-08 and was named both a First Team All-Canadian and Canada West All Star. He was named MVP and a Tournament All-Star at the 2006-07 CIS Men’s National Volleyball Championships in helping the Wesmen capture the programs 10th gold medal.
