Nikolic Wins Gold

First Year WVB Player Ozana Nikolic Has Won A Gold Medal In Beach Volleyball At The Western Canada Summer Games In Kamloops, British Columbia


First year women's volleyball player Ozana Nikolic has won a gold medal for Team Manitoba. Nikolic and her partner Shanlee McLennan beat Team BC in the Women's Beach Volleyball Final at the 2011 Western Canada Summer Games in Kamloops, British Columbia. Team Manitoba won in straight sets by scores of 25-17 and 25-15.

Nikolic will begin her first season with the Women's Volleyball Program in September.

Before joining the Wesmen, Nikolic spent the past three seasons with the UWinnipeg Collegiate team. In her final season she captained her team to a Provincial AAA High School Girl’s Volleyball title. Ozana was chosen as the MVP and was named to the Provincial Graduation Team and All-Manitoba Team. She was also named an all-star in grade 11 following the Provincial Championships.
