NDSU Beat Wesmen In Pre-Season Action

The Men's Basketball Team Opened Up Their Pre-Season Schedule With An 89-42 Loss To The North Dakota State University Bison Saturday Night..




The North Dakota State University Bison defeated the Winnipeg Wesmen 89-42 in pre-season action Saturday night at the Duckworth Centre.

Taylor Braun scored a game high 17 points. Marshall Bjorklund added 14. Dylan Hale had 12 points and TrayVonn Wright finished with 10.

Third year forward Brayden Duff led the Wesmen with 15 points. Eric Zimmerman added 10 points. First year Wesmen Mark Mcnee led the team in rebounds with eight.

The Bison opened the contest on a strong note pulling out to a lead of 25-9 after the opening 10 minutes and headed to the locker room at halftime leading 45-26.

NDSU continued their strong play in the second half scoring 44 points to close out the game making the final tally 89-42.

The early pre-season game allowed Wesmen head coach Mike Raimbault to see his team in game action for the first time.

"Tonight's game was a good barometer for the amount of work  we have ahead of us. We have lots of learning and growth to do over the next few week's to prepare for pre-season play", added Raimbault.

Winnipeg will next see pre-season game action at the end of September when the team travels to Thunder Bay to take on Lakehead University.
