Women's Volleyball Add Domnidou To Roster

Head Coach Diane Scott Has Added A Touch Of International Flavour To Her Roster With The Commitment Of Elina Domnidou To The Women's Volleyball Program..

Women’s Volleyball Head Coach Diane Scott has added a touch of international flavor to her roster. Scott is pleased to announce the commitment of Elina Domnidou to the University of Winnipeg Women’s Volleyball program.

"The first time I connected with Elina Domnidou I knew she was driven to achieve! She had already accomplished so much at a young age, that it was refreshing to see someone so young exude so much confidence. We are very pleased to have the opportunity to have Elina join our program. She will bring maturity, experience, a great team attitude and confidence, she has already proven she knows how to win”, said head coach Diane Scott.

Domnidou born in Ukraine, is a graduate of Morden Collegiate (2008) and is a former beach volleyball player who played in Greece. She started playing volleyball in 1999 and within a few short years later went on to win gold at the U16 and U17 Greek Championships (2003 and 2004).

A player with a wealth of international experience, she participated in the U20 European Championships, the U19 World Championships and the U19 European Championships in 2005. In 2006 she participated in the U18 European Championships and had her best international result at the Balkan Tournament in Romania finishing in fourth place,

In 2007 she was a member of the Greek National Team before moving to Manitoba. Domnidou recently competed at the 2010 National Championships in Toronto, Ontario.

She is fluent in three languages Greek, Russian and English
