Manitoba def WESMEN 3-0 (25-15, 25-16, 25-18)
First year left side Carleen Kruschel led the Wesmen with nine kills and a pair of blocks. Third year middle Alix Krahn finished the match with five kills and three blocks.
Simon Fraser def WESMEN 3-2 (18-25, 25-20, 21-25, 25-22, 15-11)
In a five set marathon that even included a power outage in the gym, the Wesmen fell short in a five set loss to the Simon Fraser University Clan. First year player Sonia Rossy led the team with 19 kills. Ariel Smith followed with 13 kills. Lauren Sears has three service aces and Alix Krahn was strong at the net with five blocks.

Alberta def WESMEN 3-1 (25-15, 25-22, 21-25, 25-20)
The Alberta Pandas defeated the Winnipeg Wesmen 3-1 (25-15, 25-22, 21-25, 25-20) Saturday afternoon in the final match of the preliminary round. Carleen Kruschel led the Wesmen with 13 kills and eight digs. Ariel Smith added 12 kills and an impressive 18 digs. Alix Krahn was next with seven kills. Kaley Gilham added five blocks. Winnipeg will move onto the semi final round Saturday night.
Red Deer College def WESMEN 3-0 (25-18, 25-22, 30-28) (Semi Final Round)
The Winnipeg Wesmen dropped a hard fought 3-0 (25-18, 25-22, 30-28) decision to Red Deer College in the semi final round Saturday night. Ariel Smith led the Wesmen with 13 kills. Leah Brezinski added six kills. Winnipeg will take on the Saskatchewan Huskies Sunday morning at 11:00 a.m in the final round.
Women's Volleyball @ U of Regina Invitational (Seventh Place Match)
WESMEN def Saskatchewan 3-0 (25-19, 25-19, 25-21)
The Winnipeg Wesmen swept the Saskatchewan Huskies 3-0 (25-19, 25-19, 25-21) Sunday afternoon at the University of Regina Invitational Tournament. Second year left side Ariel Smith led the Wesmen with 12 kills. Third year middle Leah Brezinski had eight kills. Alix Krahn and Lauren Sears each added five kills. The Team will now head home and prepare for the Lea Marc Volleyball Challenge which gets underway Thursday night at the Duckworth Centre. Winnipeg will host the Brandon Bobcats at 8:30 p.m.
