Women's Soccer vs Providence College

WESMEN 10  Providence College 1

The Women's Soccer team defeated Providence College 10-1 in the final match of the 2010 MCAC regular season schedule for both teams Sunday afternoon at the Winnipeg Soccer Complex.

The Wesmen finish the season undefeated with a record of 4-0-0 and in first place in the MCAC Women's Soccer standings.

Janelle Deniset, Morgan Geiger, Anastasia Reimer, and Sheri Hince eached scored two goals. Chantal Powlesland and Kayla Jacobsen added singles.

The Wesmen with a first place finish receive a bye into the Championship Final. Winnipeg will play the winner of the Canadian Mennonite University/Providence College semi-final on Sunday, October 24 at 1:00 p.m. The match will take place at Providence College in Otterburne, Manitoba.


Men's Soccer vs Providence College

WESMEN 5  Providence College 0

In a battle between the top two teams in the conference, the Winnipeg Wesmen shutout Providence College 5-0 Sunday afternoon at the Winnipeg Soccer Complex.

The victory clinches first place for the Wesmen, finishing the regular season with a record of 5-0-1.

Sean Dong and Amos Ganyea each scored a pair of goals to lead the Wesmen. Lamin Colly added a single.
Dong finished the regular season with nine goals to lead the MCAC Men's Soccer Conference.

Winnipeg will play Canadian Mennonite University in one semi final Saturday, October 23 at 3:00 p.m. at Providence College in Otterburne Manitoba. Saint Boniface and Providence College will play in the other semi final on Saturday. The winners will play in the Championship Final the following day (Sunday, October 24) at 3:00 p.m.
