The Men's Volleyball team started the University of Regina Invitational Tournament on a winning note defeating MacEwan University 3-0 (25-23, 25-21, 25-12) in the early match Friday night.
Second year right side Matt Schriemer led the Wesmen with 10 kills. Kenny McKenzie had a strong match serving with three aces.
WESMEN def Medicine Hat College 3-1 (25-27, 25-16, 25-15, 25-17)
The Wesmen defeated Medicine Hat College 3-1 (25-27, 25-16, 25-15, 25-17) Friday night at the University of Regina Invitational Tournament.
The victory gives the Wesmen a perfect 2-0 record after the opening day of the three day tournament.
Marc Ross led the Wesmen with 20 kills.
Winnipeg will take on Saskatchewan in the afternoon match on Saturday followed by a showdown with the Manitoba Bisons in the evening match.

The Men's Volleyball team improved their record to 3-0 at the University of Regina Invitational with a thrilling 3-2 (30-28, 20-25, 25-23, 23-25, 15-6) victory over the Saskatchewan Huskies Saturday afternoon.
Second year middle Devin Schmidt led the Wesmen with 12 kills and five blocks.
Winnipeg will look to keep their record perfect in the evening match against the Manitoba Bisons.

The Winnipeg Wesmen suffered their first loss at the University of Regina Invitational Tournament. The Wesmen were swept 3-0 (25-22, 25-14, 25-16) by the Manitoba Bisons on Saturday night in Regina.
Matt Stubler led the Wesmen with five kills.
Winnipeg (3-1) will close out the three day tournament against the host Regina Cougars Sunday morning at 10:00 a.m.

First year outside Ty Loewen led the Wesmen with 10 kills.
Winnipeg finishes the three day tournament with an impressive 4-1 record. The Wesmen will conclude their pre-season schedule this Tuesday at the Duckworth Centre against York University. Match time is 7:30 p.m.
