Medal bearer and UWinnipeg student Laura Sexsmith passed the medal to Gail Asper, President of the Asper Foundation, the next relay team member.
I admire Rick Hansen, expressed Sexsmith, who majors in
biology and will graduate this spring. He is inspirational and an amazing man
and I am honoured to have been selected to participate in this historic relay.
The 25th Anniversary route is recreating the
original route across Canada
which included a medal exchange at UWinnipeg 25 years ago. The Community Relay
will pass through the campus and proceed to the Forks and end todays route.
