UWinnipeg Ranks Highly In 2012 Globe And Mail Survey

WINNIPEG, MB - The University of Winnipeg continues to be one of Canada's top undergraduate universities, particularly in the areas of diversity, quality of teaching and learning, and environmental commitment according to today's Globe & Mail Canadian University Report 2012. For the second year, Globe researchers asked six “personality questions” and UWinnipeg students ranked their school 1st in Western Canada and in 5th among all 60 universities in Canada for diversity.

In addition, UWinnipeg ranks 1st or 2nd in Canada in seven important categories including environmental commitment (1st), quality of teaching and learning (1st), student-faculty interaction (2nd), recreation and athletics (2nd), libraries (2nd), instructors teaching style (2nd) and satisfaction with the city (2nd).

“The annual Globe and Mail Survey is an important measurement of how we are doing, because it is based on student experiences,” said UWinnipeg President & Vice-Chancellor Dr. Lloyd Axworthy. “Our students consistently tell us tell us they value the personal attention they receive from our professors. This year, they are also telling us that we are among the very best in Canada in reflecting the diversity of our surrounding community, and in our deep commitment to environmental sustainability.”
