|Title:||Respectful Working and Learning Environment Training - Lunch & Learn|
|Description:||For human rights concerns, the Human Rights & Diversity Office
(HRDO) is a confidential resource that is available to all members of
The University for Winnipeg community, and it administers the
Respectful Working & Learning Environment Policy (RWLE Policy).
The role of the Human Rights & Diversity Officer is to assist
members of the UWinnipeg community in the resolution of harassment
and/or discrimination complaints and to provide confidential advice
and assistance to those who have questions or concerns about issues
related to human rights. Guidance is provided to those who may wish to
pursue informal or formal routes of complaint resolution following an
incident, harassment, or discrimination.
This lunch & learn training module (LLM) is intended to provide a
basic understanding of rights and responsibilities under the RWLE and
the Manitoba Human Rights Code. It will consider:
What should you know about human rights and discrimination?
What are our rights and responsibilities under the RWLE Policy?
How you may come forward with complaint of discrimination and/or
harassment to the Human Rights & Diversity Officer?
This LLM uses a plain English language approach to help provide you
with an in-depth understanding of the RWLE and what you can do to:
develop effective strategies (individual and systemic) for
recognizing bullying and personal harassment,
raise awareness of the destructive impacts of personal harassment on
individuals, teams, departments and the University,
become familiar with the RWLE Policy and Procedures,
prevent and stop personal harassment.
