Title:	Thinkers Conference
Description:	Smart ideas + Smart policies = Smart province The purpose of the Thinkers’ Conference is to generate “smart ideas” from experts and local stakeholders through an open forum for the discussion of the challenges that Manitoba faces in the 21 st century. The goal is to generate creative, innovative, and practical policies ad ideas that will improve the quality of life of Manitobans. The “smart ideas” the Conference seeks are ideas whose time has come, and we can no longer delay necessary actions to implement them.​ The Thinkers’ Conference focuses on four main themes: •The Manitoba Economy •The Environment •Real life issues for Manitoba children and families •Education To support the purpose of the conference, we are committed to: •Ensure all our speakers freely provide their ideas and suggestions in their areas of expertise. •Take all the conference ideas generated to Manitobans for their feedback through public hearings and through a website. •Examine old assumptions and generate innovative strategies. •Transform these ideas/concepts into policies and teaching materials for schools and community groups. •Be informed, connected with Manitobans, and inspired to act. •Continue the tradition of a Thinkers’ Conference in Manitoba.
